The African vernacular architecture network was begun to showcase the beauty and importance of African vernacular architecture. Currently there exists very little information available online. This architecture is as much a part of a countries culture as is music. language or art.
The main focus of the network is the data base, where every country is Africa is represented with images of their vernacular architecture. The data base grows with people submitting their own pictures. Full credit is given for each image submitted, the data base is just a platform to showcase them.
African Vernacular Data Base is the only on line source to view images from every African country. This resource celebrates the beauty and diversity of African vernacular architecture.
